§ 01 Objective of the task

ParkON is a long-term airport parking booking service in the US. By the time our collaboration began, the site already had an established organic channel and was getting around 36,100 SEO visitors per month.

So the task wasn't to build SEO from scratch, but to scale an already working channel: expand coverage of relevant search demand, strengthen the key landing pages, clean up the link profile and build a structure capable of growing systematically for competitive airport parking queries.

We built the work around technical SEO, a large semantic core, SEO content for the main pages, backlink profile cleanup, structured data, internal linking, link building and local visibility.

Over the course of the work, organic traffic grew from 36,100 to 84,000 visitors per month — roughly 2.3×. SEO leads grew by 1.7× over the same period.

What we changed in ParkON's SEO system

On this project the goal wasn't to find one big SEO fix. The site already had traffic, so the next level of growth required working with the whole system: the technical foundation, the structure of demand, content, the internal connections between pages, and external authority.

The semantic core defined which segments of airport parking demand were worth covering. SEO copy strengthened the key landing pages. Internal linking tied the pages together. Structured data improved how results appeared in search, and link building supported competitive URLs.

The working model was this: not to optimize individual pages in isolation, but to build a system in which semantics → content → internal links → authority → visibility reinforce one another.

What the SEO audit revealed

The first stage was a full SEO audit. It wasn't just about finding technical errors, but about understanding which constraints had to be removed before scaling the organic channel.

  • After technical optimization, the site's Ahrefs Health Score reached 99/100.
  • Separately, we analyzed the backlink profile and identified low-quality SEO links that needed to be disavowed.
  • The audit became the foundation for the further work on semantics, landing pages, internal linking, structured data and off-page SEO.

In other words, the audit here wasn't a final document with a list of errors, but the point from which the rebuild of the entire SEO system began.

Why the SEO strategy drove growth

Growth happened against the backdrop of working on several connected tracks at once:

  • Semantic core and content plan. We gathered around 5,000 keywords and structured search demand around airport parking and related scenarios.
  • SEO content on key landing pages. We enriched the main pages with optimized content integrated into design blocks, rather than large walls of text.
  • Backlink profile cleanup. We audited external links and disavowed low-quality SEO links that could negatively affect the quality of the link profile.
  • Structured data. We implemented markup with rating data to make search snippets more informative.
  • Internal linking. We built a system of internal connections between airport landing pages to improve navigation, page discovery and the distribution of internal link weight.
  • Link building and local visibility. We supported priority URLs through PR and guest posting on relevant high-DR/high-traffic resources and US news portals, and developed Google Maps as an additional organic channel.

As a result, SEO worked not as a set of isolated optimizations but as a connected system: the technical foundation supported indexing, semantics defined demand, content and internal linking expanded coverage, and off-page SEO strengthened competitive pages.

Full technical SEO audit

We started scaling SEO from the technical foundation — first we needed to make sure that further growth wasn’t held back by crawling, indexing or site-structure issues.

  • Ran a full SEO audit of the site and defined the priority technical tasks.
  • Checked the technical foundation before scaling semantics, content and off-page SEO.
  • After optimization, the site’s Ahrefs Health Score reached 99/100.

This gave us a clean technical foundation to build the next stages of the SEO strategy on.

Semantic core of ~5,000 keywords and a content plan

After the technical foundation, we structured search demand: we gathered a large semantic core and built a content plan on top of it.

  • Gathered around 5,000 keywords.
  • Worked through long-tail queries around airport parking, specific airports, pricing and booking scenarios.
  • Structured the semantics by landing page and content direction.
  • Built an SEO content plan for the systematic expansion of search coverage.

The goal wasn’t to depend on a handful of the biggest queries, but to cover a broader range of specific user demand.

SEO content for key landing pages

We enriched the main commercial pages with SEO content — but not as large walls of text; the information was integrated directly into the page structure.

  • Added optimized copy to priority landing pages.
  • Broke the content into separate design blocks aligned with topics and search intent.
  • Combined SEO semantics with information genuinely useful to the user when choosing parking.

This way, SEO content became part of the page’s user experience rather than a separate block of text added purely for the search engine.

Backlink profile audit and cleanup

Before active link building, we separately reviewed the site’s existing link profile.

  • Analyzed the external SEO links and their quality.
  • Identified low-quality and problematic backlinks.
  • Disavowed the links we didn’t want counted in the site’s link profile.

This let us first clean up the existing base and only then grow new off-page authority through controlled, high-quality placements.

Structured Data and rating snippets

For the key pages we implemented structured data with rating information, so search engines received more structured context about ParkON’s offer.

  • Added Schema.org markup for the product content.
  • Passed rating data through structured markup.
  • Validated the markup with Schema.org testing tools.

The goal was to make search snippets more informative and give Google clearer structured data about the pages.

Internal Linking

For the large number of airport landing pages, we built a dedicated internal linking system.

  • Connected popular airport pages through relevant internal links.
  • Created additional discovery paths for search crawlers and users.
  • Used internal linking to support priority airport pages within the site’s overall structure.

For a site with many geographic landing pages, internal links became a distinct SEO layer rather than a random set of links.

Link building, Digital PR and local visibility

After cleaning up the backlink profile, we focused off-page work on controlled, high-quality placements for the priority pages.

  • Used PR and guest posting on relevant high-DR/high-traffic resources.
  • Worked with US niche sites and news portals.
  • Directed off-page support to competitive and priority URLs.
  • In parallel, optimized the Google Maps profile as an additional source of organic visibility.

According to project data, Google Maps began bringing in up to 1,000 additional visitors per month.
